|The Long Beach Civic Association welcomes new property owners to
our community, and invites you to join in membership.
"Long Beach On The Bay; A Personal Shangri-La", as it was christened in the 1930's, was developed by Malcolm and Eunice Rockhill from an isolated patch of forest and beachfront along the Chesapeake. From that cozy colony of summer cottages, Long Beach has grown to a virtual village of primarily year-round homes in several subdivisions.
A modest $15 annual contribution entitles you to voting membership in LBCA, and pays for community- wide mosquito control during the summer months.
If you can afford an additional $50 donation to the Improvement Fund, your dollars go toward necessary capital expenditures for the Long Beach Community Center and other special needs projects that directly benefit the community. The two-floor Community Center on Calvert Boulevard, which is the site of a child daycare center, is available after-hours to members for pre-approved functions.
As agent for M.E. Rockhill, Inc., LBCA also collects the mandatory annual Long Beach Road Fee specified in your property deed. A letter detailing the amount of your fee is mailed in the first quarter of each year. LBCA faces the tough challenge of stretching these limited monies to cover upkeep of our private roads and beach, as well as to pay for snow removal. A voluntary, but much needed, annual $50 Road Utility Fund contribution is requested of all property owners to supplement the Road Fee.
Please help us sustain the charm and natural beauty of Long Beach by pooling your talents with your neighbors. Drop a note to our P.O. Box or email, and we'll gladly mail an application to you.
